Okay.
Some if you know, I've created and been testing a cellular communications blocker, for some time, now. About a month ago, I decided to refine it. My original design still bled some 1G, so I sat down and revised it.
I can confirm that I now have a plug and play, 100% signal blocking dongle. First installation, the radio said, " Vehicle Phone Needs Service".
No 3G.
No 1G.
Nada.
If you want to put a stop to the annoying uconnect updates and any other shenanigans they may be up to, with your cell comm, this is the solution.
Kills:
Guardian
Cell Comm
911 Mirror Button
UConnect Updates
Maybe more. I dunno.
I can build 4 kits, right now.
If there is demand, sky's the limit.
Simple plug and play installation.
Remove bezel.
Remove 4 screws that secure the radio.
Unplug the Violet cell connector.
Plug in the Cell Block dongle.
Reverse steps and enjoy.
Take a look:
NOTE: Tin foil hat, optional, but this thing works.
I completely respect your privacy. Message me, if you want this, on the D.L. and we will not discuss it, in this thread. Otherwise, let me know what you think.
To build this dongle, you will need the following items:
1 each: FAKRA D connector.
1 each: 10k ohm,1% wire wound resistor, 5 watt.
1 each: 2" square faraday fabric (copper).
1 each: Small zip tie.
1 each: 1/2" diameter waterproof shrink tubing.
Solder
Soldering iron.
Cut down one lead, of the resistor, to about 7/16".
Insert it, into the center conductor pin, of the FAKRA connector.
Solder it to the pin.
Insert the pin and resistor, into the connector.
Bend the remaining resistor lead over the resistor and solder it to the shield of the connector.
Wrap the resistor and shield with the faraday fabric swatch.
Zip tie it, in place .
Install the shrink tubing, over the resistor and faraday fabric and shrink it.
Pinch the end closed.
That's it. Go install it!
Let's mod!
