Just got off the phone with Racestar. The 95 wheels I ordered have a conical seat that work with OEM nuts. The 92 wheels, their most popular, require the kit. The only warning was that the c’bore might be small for some sockets. Again, I appreciate all the help to try to get it right the first time!

I had the Racestar 95 (Recluse) wheels on my previous Hellcat Charger and they used conical lug nuts, I went with them over the 92 style for this reason. I had wheels on my Mustang that required shank style lug nuts and I never want to go that route again, they are a real nuisance.

Maybe i am not understanding. Those washers look circular to me. Maybe the tiny screen.

The holes are different for every bolt pattern and no they are not round.

When I see racestar I think of the 92 style. @jonx96 has used the 95 style

How are you guys struggling with the lug nuts? I prefer the non-shank style because it's less to fool with (washers) but my shank ones are no issue at all.

I bought wheels with the standard lugnuts and pretty much gave the Racestars away. Writing it off as a learning experience.

No. I bought the wrong wheels. The shank Racestars. They suck.

Shrug, mine weigh 38lbs with M&H Racemaster front runners on them and were like $300 for both. I'm still trying to figure out why people have trouble with them.

I looked at buying some Billet Specialties just for something different, but they weren't any lighter, or at least not enough to matter.

The skinnies that I put on once had a oblong washer with long shank lugnuts. They were a royal pita so they were replaced immediately.

Hopefully yours isn't like those.

Aaah.. RaceStars 😖. It’s been so long ago. The washers are squashable. They should be replaced every time. If they get reused, they spread out and get oblong and stick in the shank barrel and cause problems. Also…. The Chinese nuts are crap. Thread is cockeyed more often than not and will bugger up the lug. Billet Specialties makes quality shanked lug nuts.

I did have to replace my FACTORY lug nuts last year though. They got so out of shape I had to pound them outta the socket and were a major PITA. I went with Gorilla Lugs as replacements.

I had an absolute nightmare with mine, one shank broke and shredded a stud. After that I got beadlocks.

I now have welds for daily driving and my d5 for racing. Well I mean I could use both for racing but on the street I run a 275.

You don't need the end links? I had seen if you jack the car up from the control arm some have done it but using the side jacking point they will not go on

Got the wheels and now I understand what you are saying. With the suspension hanging the wheels hit the sway bar and you can't put them on. If I jack under the control arm they probably would fit. But if the suspension unweights enough during driving, it'll hit. Seems like the shorter links are the better way to go.

I'm guessing this is a Challenger only problem.
