@jonx96 has proved a pulley only Redeye will go 8s. It is harder for the factory to do it but with a 3.0 blower and light weight it can be done. Be curious how they addressed all the axle failures in testing along with engine issues

Maybe they didn’t. The Demon wasn’t really a everyday 9.6 car when that went down. They pulled a lot of tricks out of the bag to promote that number. If they manage to run a documented 8.9999 (9.0) pass under otherworldly conditions….. they will use it just like back then. It’s all about the hype, not reality. I mean… they’re using insane Leprechauns now for crap sake 😳. I think part of the plan is that not many (any?) of these things will get beat on. Way too much collector value to do that. Can’t break a car sitting in a collection.

I always liked the turn key drag paks though.
