Tesla should buy Dodge and Chrysler keep producing ice performance cars. They have an excess of carbon credits.

Thats the case in Washington state - registering your vehicle can easily set you back over a $1000 bucks in some cases ( like a motorhome) but they will tell you that your license tax is only $30 - the state will tack on fees that are based on many other components like where you live (transit "fee") the cost of the vehicle, the weight of the vehicle, if it's an electric vehicle, etc.

Then the tags for the first few years are over $1,000. I be out soon.
Its just the initial tax that kills you.
They briefly had a trade in tax. Trade in a car over 10k, and they taxed that at 3%

But the dealers were able to get that one off the books after 6 months or so.

They also floated the EV registration at $2,000/yr because "they don't pay the gas tax"

RTA - Regional Transit Authority or light rail system for the region. Of course I'll pay, but I'll never see the results...

I was just reading how registering a car in some places is over 1k. The ticket for not doing it was less then $100. Seems it would be cheaper to take your chances. I still see cars with no plates running around. Why not have it be $100 to register and $1000 if you dont and get caught?
That would make way too much sense.

People like to make statements, but not if it costs them.. much... And certainly not if it helps someone they don't like! It's all "feel good" and has nothing to do with economics, logic or the environment.

I wonder sometimes how many of these environmentalists that buy EV have ever owned a driver/drill.

I dont really consider that "plunging" but i understand where youre going.
Huh? Mag, -10% in an inflationary environment of at least more than ten percent? What is considered plunging if they are going down more than 20% relative to everything else, plus a government subsidy-tax benefit is offered?

There are always market fluctuations, and the subsidies have long been figuring in the pricing before now. Dropping 10k in price on a 120k car is not a plunge to me when, even w subsidies precovid they were what 80 or 90 grand? Just a question of scale. And the primary driver for lowering the prices was more mainstream EVs entering the market at lower prices.

Because the EU just trashed their EV mandate. Or, they were capitalism at its best and not worth it to begin with. Or, big f you to early buyers to move product. Or, nuclear fusion is around the corner

Someone mentioned eu ev msndate dropped. Can you elaborate? As of feb 16 thought agreement that no new gas powered vehicles can be sold as of 2035 was still good. Just like in CA, you can still buy and sell used, but no more new builds in those categories. Has something changed?
