Anyone know of anyone that's bought a Hornet? Or have you seen one in the wild?

Just curious. The dealers around here in VA have tons of them on the lots. I've yet to even see one in traffic, and I actually look for them.

Dealers around here have rows of them on the lots, usually up front along the main street. Prime real estate. Haven't seen one on the street, though.

We were recently car shopping for my wife, and I actually gave the GT Plus a good looking at, for the kind of vehicle and application we were chasing. Spoke with a dealer on the phone, and they sure seemed willing to deal. In the end my wife said "no way" LOL, so that was the end of that, but it got me to thinking about them.

I've seen one in person and that was sitting at a stoplight in my town. Haven't seen it again. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a test drive at the volume dealer down the road and they never bought it.

Seems to be no shortage of them on the lots, but have yet to see one in the wild. Let's face it, this is a hatchback style car which has never been popular in the US. Then add on the poor Alpha quality/reliability rep and the crazy high sticker prices for this scooter and you have the recipe for failure.

It’s very bland in appearance and has a high sticker price. The willingness is irrelevant when people see the sticker and immediately walk away. The price would be less important if it was a flashy, good-looking car, but it isn’t.

A quick search of local inventory turned up 122 to select from (10 of which are leftover '23s) - get 'em while they're hot (NOT).

My usual dealer has 16 sitting on the lot and just worked a deal to move 6 of the hybrid ones to another dealer by Detroit that is actually selling them.
They were VERY happy to get rid of them.

This is an example of them not understanding not only who their core consumer was, but that their core was also the vast majority of their market, and even further that when they pissed that group off, that we'd likely have a trickle down affect to their outlier consumers.

Marketed as a nice small SUV and priced accordingly, it might have done okay against the little Buick and the like. Instead, it’s a performance joke.

Its too much $$$ compared to other CUV offerings.
