This guy is full of shit. The “roll out” depends on staging. Deep or shallow. Yes there can be a small difference in where you place the car in that box and yes that will affect your times slightly depending on how deep you are . If you deep stage to where you turn off the top bulb you could be less than a inch from starting the timer. That’s a red light waiting to happen. It’s why people trying to record a better number will bump into the bottom bulb. That’s called shallow staging. It will give a slower reaction time but better numbers down track. They are probably using the Wallace Racing Calculator to come up with the 0-60 mph numbers. If that car ran a 1.24 sixty ft, it’s hitting 60 mph in well under 2.0 seconds. Another Long winded Utube tool jacking off people who don’t know what they don’t know.

To put a point on how ridiculous this kind of Utube stuff is….. the second staging box is 16” long. If you were to inch your way in and shallow stage as much as possible (pre stage light is fluttering)….you would have a max runout of 16”. The Utube guy says that runout will give you a 6 mph run at the timer. Who here thinks they accelerate 6 mph in 16 inches? Let’s do the math…. At that rate, 60 mph would be accomplished in 160 inches. That’s 13 feet. 🙄.

Some one do the calc with a G force # With only 6 MPH in 16” would your eyeballs bounce of the back side of your skull.I hate doing math.

It’s not even 60’, it’s 0-60mph. The most pointless and overstated stat - it’s a car sales point and a brochure item, that’s it. People care about it because the auto manufactures say you should care about it, bs or not. If he was talking 60’ and doing the math on that I’d watch.

This rollout argument can be used for all drag strip times. You didn’t really run that time because you had a X mph roll. Might as well call it roll racing. In reality we’re talking inches and fractions of a second that only factor into competition with another car when it comes to who gets to the finish line first. Most (non drag racing experienced) people think the timer starts when the green light comes on.

My reaction time is usually pretty decent but I just don’t care at test and tunes. I shallow stage, trigger prestige and bump into 2nd light and leave whenever I’m ready once it turns green
