Hey all. This is my newb post but thought I would get this hilarious taxi thread back on track with some very recent info.
7/24/2020
The dealer I’m working with had two items on the computer that were listed as KARR ($995 and AFTRMKT ($3985).He sent me screen shots
which showed everything, including the invoice cost. When I pressed him about what it was he tried to be vague but as many have mentioned so far it contained the following:
KARR - NOPE don’t want it or need it
Nitrogen filled tires - NOPE
”gps tracking” - he said I needed this because I live near Mexico. Huh?
Final touch package - AKA put way too much greasy armor all on everything. NOPE
Detailing - another way of saying put way too much armor all on everything and slop a coat of wax on the car but don’t do a good job of taking it off. NOPE
Anyway, I saw this right after he bragged they they don’t do ADM like other dealers etc. We were texting back and forth (this is the sales manager) so I tell him NO KARR and NO PLANS or PACKAGES. He calls me immediately and says HE CANT SELL ME THE CAR!
For the new buyers out there this is where you have to be willing to walk because for one thing, this was that dealers hidden mark up and another thing is that those items are totally optional.
We argued on the phone for a few minutes and he finally caved. I didn’t have to do the whole dance with telling him no and waiting a few days for him to call back or maybe not (which is likely).
End result:
I’m picking up a 2020 Octsne Red Challenger HC WB RE for just over invoice and that includes all fees and taxes! Pics later in my official newb post. Lol

When I was shopping for a Camaro, I found one that I wanted. I test drove it, talked price, things were going well. Until......they brought out the paperwork. There seemed to be a several thousand dollar price disparity between the agreed price and the price on the paperwork. As I'm scanning the numbers I see these additional items......you know the ones....paint protection, GAP insurance, etc, etc, etc. When I questioned those additonal costs, the salesman said those are the standard things they add to every vehicle. I told him to take them off because I wasn't paying for those things.
He leaves to go back to the sales manager and get the number fixed. When he returns, the total number is only $500 lower. I told him that wasn't correct and what the number should be. He said that was the best he could do. I said.....bye. I then got to stew for 2 hours on the drive home. They called me several times over the next few days and I never answered. I bought a Camaro from my local Koons dealer for a much better price.
He leaves to go back to the sales manager and get the number fixed. When he returns, the total number is only $500 lower. I told him that wasn't correct and what the number should be. He said that was the best he could do. I said.....bye. I then got to stew for 2 hours on the drive home. They called me several times over the next few days and I never answered. I had a general manager cry to me that it wasn't fair that I had my wife at another dealership and had them bidding against each other. I replied that with the eleventy million ways from Sunday they try to fuck everyone over who sets foot in their door I didn't want to hear anything about what was fair coming from him. In the end, I think I got them though. I finally had a guy at a third dealer I trusted tell me, "I cannot touch that. If they're really offering you that, buy it."
