Demon driveshaft = 33 lbs 12oz
CCI Driveshaft = 21 lbs 12 oz.
But to me worth the extra weight . My vibration is finally GONE and the car is smooth as glass up to 225 KPH(139 MPH ). I am really happy with the outcome.
A big shout out to @oilburner for letting me use his hoist to install my new driveshaft today. It made it definitely easier to do. I`m not going to bore you with pictures as it has been done many times. I was a smooth install and I got to fix an exhaust leak and a missing nut on the starter heat shield. .
Also a big shout out to @motorheadmike for talking some sense in to me about the while driveshaft debacle . When installing the demon/redeye 2 piece driveshaft i noticed the the front section from the transmission to the hanger bearing it has 1 angle and the rear section from the hanger bearing to the differential has a different angle. Add that to the length of the 1 piece no wonder it vibrates . I personally have nothing but bad luck with 1 piece driveshafts on the late model challengers. I have tried multiple manufactures and multiple materials. There may be a weight penalty but worth it for me.
I did a test yesterday. I brought up the rpms a little higher than normal. Ok more than a little. LOL
Guess what...I felt the vibration I was having at the top end at times. Poop
its a much higher frequency vibration than lets say a tire out of balance. almost a buzz like vibration.
the faster you go the worst it gets like Hpindy said.
Not everyone has issues with their driveshaft. Unfortunately I did . Like I said between 2 cars I tried 5 different driveshafts from 3 different companies and had bad luck with every ones of them .
Maybe my cars are junk
Hopeful the charger redeye has this beef shaft. Looks like it’s listed in parts, but I’ll wait for some results on a tire and 900+ wheel before I look at it.
