Just inspected oil, nothing out of the ordinary. Since running E ive alwas wondered about color, seems like normal. About to start supercharger disassembly to get to the SCB, going to take the one off my old S/C. Ordered parts but its going to be a while till they ship.

What happened to the supercharger?

I did oil analysis after running E85 for a while and it was no different than gasoline.

What’s the SCB? What do you think happened to the supercharger?

Super Charger Bearing would be my guess.

100% not the supercharger bearings. The culprit is the Supercharger bypass, aka the fucking neon throttle body from the early 2000’s…

P1620-SUPERCHARGER BYPASS VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN

Theory of Operation
The Supercharger boost pressure is managed by the use of a Supercharger Bypass (SCB) Valve. The PCM can vary the position of the SCB Valve to control the amount of boost. The SCB system uses two Position Sensors to monitor the SCB blade position. Position Sensors are located within the SCB Valve assembly. Each sensor has its own Signal circuit. Both sensors share a 5-Volt reference circuit (Supply) and a low reference circuit (Sensor Return). The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the SCB Valve Sensor data. Each Signal circuit provides the PCM with a signal voltage proportional to SCB blade movement. The PCM monitors the data to verify that the indicated SCB position is correct.

When Monitored and Set Conditions
When Monitored:
This diagnostic runs with the ignition on.

Set Conditions:
When the error between the actual position and the desired position of the SCB Valve Motor Driver, based on the rate

Potentially yank the one off my old supercharger or wait three weeks for a new one, only one in existence is in Miami according to dealership. Waiting on shop opening Monday to see of Miami will sell it to local dealership. In regards to the fuel system @Speedy! I am at the theoretical limit for the amount of boost I am making. There is a table to adjust for some added through put and Ill look at it soon. Someone also suggested launching in second because they said first gear is useless for me now. Should the data on the next couple of passes suggest slip, the trans has 65k miles on it. Have a hard decision, TH400 or fully built HP90, pros and cons to both.

You might try a bump in fuel pressure commanded to see if that helps.

I drive on the street A LOT so a built HP90 gets my vote but my goals aren't to set the world on fire at the track either so there's that. Several 8 second Hellcats on HP90s though I think, but I don't keep up with that stuff too closely.

Dual fuel pump setup from OST.
What pumps it use? Dual 275’s? 285’s? 295’s??
I’m running dual 285’s at 85 psi ID 1300’s and with 85%E above 60F system just keeps up to 21-22 psi of boost.

Same here, it’s at its limit where we’re at. I have a dual 295 Steve White set up that I’m going to try next and see if they keep up, if not a fuel supply line size upgrade at minimum will be needed I think.

So speaking on fuel systems. Cox racing sells a return line only for our cars. He claims it out flows a bap.
this still uses factory rails and feed line. Only change is it adds a return. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I went with the 295 out of the gate. From what I saw they flow a lot more then the 285. For $100 more for the kit seemed a no brainer

Do you just need the bypass/throttle body?

Didn't you just buy a ported blower? Why not take the part off the other one?

Now I know why take off SC’s on eBay are mostly all missing the bypass valve, I know they get reused on Whipple swaps. I have a spare one if you need to borrow it, just replace it with a new one when and if they are are available again, or just PayPal me cost of a new one ($150) and I’ll put one on order. Let me know, I’ll be back home tomorrow and can get it shipped out asap if needed in such.

Cars down till further notice, trans has left the chat. On that pass went from 1-3… which means slip, which means th400 time cause im not putting another 90 in…
I would contact Dave @hellno , he can build yours to handle it. His shop is in Tennessee.
