Just wondering if anyone else is seeing issues?

I have had my Quickjack for about two years now and two of the hose fittings (female quick disconnects) and one of the male fittings on the pump has failed as well. When I say failed, I mean they are leaking whenever I pressurize them. Always kept them clean and covered so I’m a little surprised.

Good news is I can get them from a local store. Bad news is they are $40+ each.

Are they typical tractor style quick disconnects?

If so, they do tend to leak. Try a flat face version instead.

They are flat face fittings. I'm on my 2nd QJ (sold my first one to upgrade to the 7000 lb version), and have never had any problems with the hoses or fittings (knock on Chinesium ). I have seen pictures of voids in the hose swelling up like a little balloon - just have to keep an eye on things.

Mine are ok so far.

I did price them as well and found them to be pretty crazy in price.

Maybe investigate rebuilding them???

I would think it might just come down to an o-ring???

One other tidbit to share - sometime between my first and second QJs, they went from supplying Teflon tape on the first one, to a bottle of mystery liquid Chinese thread sealant provided on the second unit - it's dark in color and not white like Teflon, so who knows what it actually is???. Without thinking as much as I should have at the time, I just used the provided liquid sealant and luckily have had no leaks so far. In hindsight, I would have always used Teflon tape and wish I did. I can only guess they switched because of complaints from those that don't how to properly use the tape. But I have also read of a lot of people having leaks with the mystery liquid too.

Yeah mine had that too. I used it and it seems to have worked fine as my fittings are not leaking at the threaded ends, they are leaking at the male/female connections.

When I replaced them I just used Teflon tape.

Probably. I’ve kept the old ones, maybe I’ll ask the hydraulic place I got the fittings from.

Yep, same happened to me. I could not find the exact replacement but close. I may call them sometime to see what they can give us for replacement and how much. That is bullshit I agree.

I used TT on mine as well. Surprised that's not a warranty issue. You would think for the money we spent they would throw a freebie set of fittings if someone reported failure.

I haven’t tried speaking with them yet about any kind of parts warranty.

For me, I needed it when I needed it and had time allocated for working on the car, so I just ran down the road and got new ones.

Yep, same here. I had my car starting to go up and one was leaking as it was sagging! What a mess.

did you just get fittings or all new hoses? May I ask the source (since you are local to me)? I see QJ wants $45 per hose, long or short, and $35 each for the pump threaded fitting + tax +shipping.

I went to Northern Tool and get the closest I could. It was about $35. The original units seem larger and more robust, but it still works.

I just got new fittings. I haven’t gotten the new male fitting for the pump yet, didn’t realize that one was failing until today when it leaked fluid all over the floor.

I’m not in your neck of the woods anymore, I live up in Utah now and got it from a local place. But I imagine tractor supply or Granger would have them. If you have time, I’d probably just order them from QJ.

Surplus Center is a good source for hydraulic hoses and various fittings.

So it looks like more than 50% of QJ are seeing this issue? That's bullshit. But sounds like a none safety issue, is that right?

Technically I would agree, but if one of them failed catastrophically during a lift sequence, the property damage could be significant.

(There is a "safety" mechanism that "should" protect users IF they are properly using the lift)
