That's my understanding. We'll now find out the real value of 2018 Demons now that owners aren't swapping them back and forth. I bet no one's gonna care about the 2018s now.

Yep. So a matching VIN is the only right ... not a first right to buy one of the 3,300. This costs Dodge nothing (clever) as they can just shelter the 2018 demon number range and pull from a fresh range or use the unclaimed 2018 sequences since VINs aren't sequential and don't represent the build number.
