Ceramic coat the fender. Rubber wipes right off of mine. Get a touch up product and wipe them before an event for easy maintenance.

I have clear bra (Expel) in that spot to protect from chips on the street.
My experience has been when I was using the ET-R it did wipe right off. A little touch up after with some wax and it was good. Then…. I went to the Radial Pro and it was WTF. That tire throws off black goo from hell. It smears if you even look at it. When you refer to ceramic coating… do you mean something I can buy and put on like I’ve seen advertised, or a actual professional application?

You can buy. It's 80% as good as pro

Look at Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light, Adam's Geaphene Ceramic, or Cquartz UK.

You'll want their topper for maintenance that goes with the product you choose.

I personally think it looks fine...as far as the wax remover...I use Kent products ACRYSOL. It removes all residue and leaves it ready to tack and paint. My go to before applying any paint.

Building the new engine is going slow 😒. Progress is being made though. We are working with CP Carrillo on a new piston and rod setup that is taking some additional time. We sent them one of the cylinder heads and they are “digitizing” the combustion chambers so they can match the custom pistons. Plus they have a new forged rod that we decided to go with because of some other top secret decisions that have happened 😊. So on to the block….. completed the ‘half fill’ today. When the new pistons get here, it can go to the machine shop for bore and deck. You start with what is basically powdered iron “cement” and mix it up with water. Pour it into the water passageways until they are half way up. Sounds easier than it is. I won’t go into the step by step details but from start to finish it took about 8 hours. You have to be a motor head to find anything interesting about this, but here it is…. 0D30F9E1-21E6-42D3-A71E-210FFE53972A.jpeg 8A8C8957-ABFD-44C2-8F56-F4E0DDA4C946.jpeg 809A4D91-6A6B-49FB-A330-C3C76B81D4F0.jpeg 3753153C-7154-45C1-8CF5-84FB1CDF0BE5.jpeg AAF7CABA-BC19-468A-884D-7AC2FAB8D97F.jpeg 02032683-F472-4ACC-AE5F-D33A0118E9D7.jpeg

As far as the rubber goes, is the clear bra the problem? Rubber will impregnate into the vinyl making it harder to clean off. Ceramic over paint should be a more slippery surface.
Did you guys vibrate the block at all while you were pouring? That helps settle things. Some welding rod to help it down the funnel too.

Don’t know on the clear bra. It could be part of the problem. Sounds like you’ve been there on the block fill. Yes on the vibrating and mallet wacking. Used both welding rod and zip ties to get it where it needs to be in the block because it doesn’t just settle. Wasn’t exactly fun but it turned out good and another learning experience.

Combination of stuff coming together. I’ve been friends with James Golden for years now (ever since I loaned him a Whipple pulley at a MSHS race in Kentucky 4 years ago). He’s been trying to talk me into going turbos and after he stepped up to a Pro Mod level with his car, he made me a offer on his previous setup I couldn’t refuse. Twin 76 Garrett’s rated to 1500hp each. New motor is going to be stout 😤. 619201CA-31ED-427D-9DA0-E21B6F2DB1A0.jpeg 20290864-F4EC-4C16-ADCD-FAC4261C3486.jpeg 64975F90-0561-4C36-9804-A8BD7FBAAA8A.jpeg 2261EB73-F7CF-4E24-AB2C-2D0E4B44B5C2.jpeg 2AD614F2-FB5C-4EA9-854E-6FB0EDF802CF.jpeg 32E69566-C4F4-4127-8E3F-5B38B3785026.jpeg
