Never heard of it. He was arrested in Volusia County FL. I live in Volusia.
exactly. Only that Nellis is an Air Force base that's not located in Volusia County.

I've seen the results. I wasn't up for sitting in the rain all day Saturday and risking driving home in a thunderstorm on drag radials. They only allowed 2 test passes on Friday. If was open TNT I'd have gone.

It was absolutely gorgeous Tues - Friday then a complete wash out Saturday. Is what it is.

So at our track it is nmca and nmra so a little busier but they had still been doing 3 passes on Friday, I dont think it shows in schedule though. Part I dont like is you can only run when they call you up. Would make more sense to do a tnt style and have different lanes for regular tree, pro tree or if anything else different. My thought it is a free racing weekend. With the nmca being there the prep should have been better then a tnt so that alone would make it worth while. I see Alan won the 12 second with Robert being a close second. Both those guys have won a few and also the $1000 that come with it for running the nittos. I have made a lot of new friends in just that mopar group that run alot of the races. We are at an end of an Era where dodge won't be giving out free racing much longer

A think I figured out what @hell on wheels was saying in his cryptic posts. Seems a silver Demon 170 blew the motor in glorious fashion at the big end of the track at Bowling Green NMCA on Friday. Rods out the side of the block. Jon sent me a FB post about it.

I've said before I'm very surprised these engines weren't hand assembled by an expert with a name plate attached similar to what Ford does on GT500s. So now it's RacerX (different problem) and this one that I know have failed. I'm hoping these end up being some kind of assembly issues only affecting a few. Mine seems OK so far

Some old school Mopar guy put up a YT video saying he thinks the front sump oil pan is a problem, but I'm not sure he took in to account the baffles on modern pans. Time will tell I guess.

Ron has posted some big wheelies with no problems. The car friday was running e90 and could be why it broke.

Agreed. I'm kinda surprised the guy put it out on FB. I'm not sure why people run higher ethanol content than E65ish. The car won't make more power, might make less with bypass opening, and worst case scenario it goes lean and you blow it up.

I am keeping an eye on this though obviously. Will suck if there's some real problem.

In my logs oil pressure was fine on mine from launch to the stripe, and misfires were fine too so who knows.

Blowing up at the top end of the track is super dangerous.

Not sure if this will work but here's the video:

Even cutting low 1.2s I never had oil pressure issues. But here is another thought I had. How much fuel was in the car? Could be lean on launch. Also a really heat socked car is no ones friend. A car making this kind of power really takes a lot of responsibility and understanding of what is going on. Or it could be as simple as a few poorly built engines. Hard to say.

Also my stock engine who knows the reason when it let go I was cruising down the road at 45mph and it just let go. It could have been the 24 psi I put to it the week before or the 2 months before when I went lean and had a fuel pump fail. Just because it was at the end of the pass the possibilities are still anything.

The only thing is we didn't see engine issues with 2018 Demons or stock Redeyes and now there's at least 2 of these with some kind of problem internally, and one where the crank pulley was improperly installed that took out the crank.

We need @ButterDaGreat? investigative reporting.

These cars aren't the only new vehicles with engine problems. The new Tundras are having engine failures and Toyota has recalled about 100K of them.

Something to do with debris in the crankshaft area.
A stop sell has been put on them and resale is in the toilet.

What other cars are having major issues? Plenty from what I'm seeing.
