That is a lame cop out.

These things can fail any number of ways. Eating bearings seems to be the most common. That being said, I don't know how you can enforce an arbitrary standard, using a sound file for reference. Lame.

I guess they can wait it out and spring for a new engine, when shit let's go and dumps into the heads. Tell him that.

When they did mine, it was a $6000 part. Probably much more, now. Not as expensive as a crate replacement, though.

Apparently, the Star Case you used no longer exists AFA Stellantis is concerned. It’s been replaced by the image I posted and the sound files which I will try to post up.

By the time the SC dumps bits into the heads, I won’t have any kind of warranty left.

my 1st bad SC ('15 M6) was a dead on match for #2, 2nd fit #1 I didn't think there was an issue with the 2nd [hearing loss at 4000 - Blackhawk APU whine left a hole], so I wasn't hearing everything the mechanic [not just a tech] heard, and still don't hear what's wrong with #1.
