The stoic set in Dodges tune for E85 is 9.77 at 85 percent alcohol content.
You then take the air charge at high rpm and maximum cylinder pressure. That is .0288. Slightly less at less cylinder pressure.
The FA stoic is set to .1024.
You add those two up. .1312
Then take the 9.77 value and divide by .1312.

You get a lambda of a little more than .74!

Dodge really wanted to keep this tune safe at higher rpms and cylinder pressure!

Cleetus burned down a C170 in less than 3 hours on e85.
Honestly though, it had a tune on it and I don’t like his tuner.

Sorry to hear that. It was not because of the commanded FA. Overly rich.

Who’s his tuner?

Ok. He had a tune. Well there went his warranty. It is very easy to change the tune where the tuner could have put it at .85 or higher. My 2016 from the factory was .86. But that was at 707 hp vs 1025 for the 170. More heat in the cylinder for the 170.

Seems all the newer HC's run rich at WOT, mine (gas) go into the 9's A/F. Some people think this their way to cool the cats and avoid warranty replacements. I'm thinking the 170's might be doing something similar?

I think you are right on. And with a stock demon 170 the lambda may go lower than .74 once cot gets enacted. Cant blame dodge for this. Lots of heat.
