cast - I think I started the custom color frenzy asking if he could get Hemi Orange - Geoff liked the way they turned out so much he said he was putting just that color back on sale for the intro price? I love the billet, but I got three sets of cast covers to cover my fleet for the price of one set of billet - decided I had to be more sensible on this buy.

Going with the black for the Durango, and these are on the way for the Charger - I like a little variety

10:00 went out and bought 10gal Sunoco 100, pulled everything out of the truck bed, swept and hosed it, let it dry and put everything back, took out the tractor, have a slow leak in a front tire so had to take it to the barn to fill it, then used it to lift the trailer off the blocks and pull it out of winter storage to the barn to check and fill the tires, park the trailer, put the tractor away, put the RE on the QJ and installed the skinnies and DR's, set the pressures, torqued them, purged the tank, added 1qt 100, purged that, added 6gal 100, removed the pass seat, rear seat, mats, all the crap out of the trunk, glove, console, hooked up the trailer to the truck, set up the ramps, went inside to take a break at 2:30. I was so tired I decided to skip street night tonight.

I'm getting too old for this crap. In the future, prep will need to be done the day before. I'll keep it prepped, put it on the QJ and wait for a good track rental day, maybe next week.

Hi Holy - funny you checked in...I'm on a lunch break after a session this morning and one yesterday afternoon and evening after diving into the sinister right hand side of these cars! All I can say is, I am glad I started on the LH side to gain confidence and dial-in technique and process, because looking back, it was quite a bit easier. All I can say is, it is one S-O-B to get that RH OEM valve cover even out of there, but it is possible. I installed new plugs and got the Blackbird one on this morning, and even it was not easy getting in - I cannot even imagine trying to get the OEM one back in.

Anyway, after surveying the wire harnesses and space available, I decided it was not feasible for me and my large meat-hook hands and my aching back to completely split the lower harness like I did on the LH side. I did separate the battery cable that is paired with the large alternator cable on the front lower corner, because that is one of many tight problem areas, and I wanted to run the battery cable that goes up, on the other side of the dipstick tube. Beyond that, I am going to use the harness extensions. I found them from MMX (P/N MMX-COILPAK-EXT $200 + s/h) - they are pricey but very well-made. I had a feeling I would need them, and I found no other ready-made options, and do not have the desire to fab something myself at this time. The kit comes with 4 short and 4 longer. I am hoping it ended up being a silver lining that I did not use them on the left side, because my idea is, to use 2 short ones on #2 and #8, and longer ones on 4 and 6, and pair up 6 and 8 and curl them around the rear and up, and 2 and 4 paired up and curl them around up the front, all joining the main blob up top and still look halfway decent. Worst case, I have to use the 4 long ones.

The final major hurdle awaits me after lunch - trying to get the 5 lower valve cover bolts in and started without dropping them into the black abyss with having the worst access of anything on that side. Everything else should be pretty straightforward - just buttoning things up and plopping the coils back on. Then, final plumbing the PCV and catch cans.

I can definitely share some final thoughts/photos if I ever get this done LOL. Long way to go still...but the long shot photo above gives a preview of the access improvement.

Well, today was a bust. Showed up to get my new tires & the date codes were way off. 2 were dated 5024 which is fine, but the other 2 were dated 4223.
Told the guy there was no way I'd accept the old 2 & he needed to get 2 more with the 5024 date (or there abouts).

Seems like nothing is easy anymore, always someone trying to sleaze something by you grrrrrrrrrrr !

I am seeing more and more of this BS with tires, whether it be from chains like Discount, and even from Summit and Jeg's, who all should know better, but everything seems dumbed down in these times.
