Depends on the plug. The shiny ones are coating that you don't use anti seize like the NGK 2309. I used to run copper autolites in a car years ago and those you do

Sadly, the best thing to do is contact the manufacturer of the plug. I myself only ever run Champion Coppers(I’m old fashioned and don’t believe in these Rhudenium nonsense plugs) or NGK Coppers in all my vehicles. They’re great plugs. And if you’re changing them out as often as you say, I’d say you’re gonna be just fine.
It really comes down to this… do you index your plugs? Does anyone index their plugs anymore? I kid, I kid.

Index? Yes lol, me, always lol Facing towards the intake valve to cool the electrode and keep plug clean from shading of the electrode by the ground strap.
I’ve gone a step beyond and have drilled ground straps even to start the kernel and prevent spark blow out with nitrous lol

That’s awesome to see. I’m glad people still do it.

This isn’t shocking at all. It’s much more common on bikes nowadays than it is in modern cars. Glad to see that there are still people who can do it and are willing to do it.

Maybe it becomes different in a high boost application, but at least for NA setups Richard Holdener did experiments and found that indexing plugs made zero difference.

To me it’s more about electrode and ground strap cooling to help prevent detonation then grasping for a few HP as what’s 3-4 even 10 Hp in 1000+

"170" 386...."18 Demon"...1150..."16" HC..1550... "06" Viper 4800..."97" Viper 10,450 "99" Prowler..1130.....I don't get to drive them as much as I would like...plus they NEVER come out if there is ANY chance of rain...but I'm okay with that..I'm never gonna sell em...and I don't plan on dyin any time soon...(does anybody)..so I got time...but on the rare occasions I get to drive em....it's always Christmas morning...(especially if I get to unwrap more than one a day);)

386 miles on the 170 and 1150 on a 7 year old OG Demon and you're giving Unholy a hard time about driving his car!? :ROFLMAO:

If my 170 gets fired up it gets no less than 50 miles put on it. I'm closing in on 3,000 now and that's after what's been kind of a bad winter for this area to boot so it's been parked a lot this year.
