Oh yes, I remember them. my dad had winter sets and summer sets for his Road Runner and my mom's Satellite. I got to lug those wheels/tires up and down the steps of our basement twice a year. The rears were the typical snow tires of the late 60's/early 70's.
Those snow tires sure did make for a nice burnout pic full of smoke pouring off of them.
I remember the transition to radials also.
And just for fun since we're traveling down memory lane......how about when they started making the new cars run on unleaded and they first put that nozzle restrictor in so you couldn't put regular gas in an unleaded car. Well.....until some sneeky company came up with a plastic nozzle adapter.
