Demon 170, will any be 100k, probably not

@cole3986 I don't know what your point is. This thread is about cost/value of these cars. The 2018 Demon I was involved with had a $90K sticker and only brought $106K at auction in April of 2018 when they were the hottest thing since sliced bread. To top that the proceeds went to Racing4Vets a wounded vet charity so it was even a write off. It was a big flop.

So you paid $92K plus TTL plus insurance, plus maintenance for the past 6 years and there's about a 25% inflation rate from 2018 to 2024. Are you saying your Demon hasn't lost any value?

@Bowtie Guy asking price and selling price are two different things. A search on BAT will show what they're selling for and it's dropped a lot the past year or so.

The $171 and $180 ones appear to be outliers. Maybe had options that someone just had to have. You can look at the comments and kinda see what was going on, sometimes a person gets in a bidding war with a business.

This is a little better way to visualize the sales. This is filtered to just 2023 Demon 170s. 30% are reserve not met interestingly.

I've been watching it every day for about 3 months just out of curiosity.

Nah, I do enjoy a good debate though People act like I'm crazy for driving my 170 and I just laugh, I mean IT'S A CAR. No one wants to hear the facts around the value of these cars and will convince themselves of anything. The enjoyment I get driving mine is worth every dime of depreciation.

With the exception of my last one..I have owned all my cars for more than a few years...when I calculate the FUN factor of ownership over the years....my cars don't owe me anything...we all got our way of lookin @ things I guess

Speedy, those window stickers reflect the 10K price increase that occurred in the summer of 2023. If the Demon170 was ordered when the order banks were opened and the same entity took delivery of the car, the 10K price increase was not applicable.

For example, my Demon, that included the carbon fiber wheels had a total cost of $ 114,246. If I didn't order the wheels the price would of been $ 103,246.00 (using 11K for the wheel option).

Cole, a stripped down 170 was advertised at $96,666 prior to August 2023 which was a STEAL for the performance. Once the price increase happened MSRP changed and it changed before any cars were actually delivered as well. That's why all window stickers reflect the updated MSRP. I think very few people actually got that price. Did you pay $114K for your CF wheel 170? If so CONGRATS!

I guess technically the range would be $106,666 with the $10K increase but I've not seen any at that price.

Speedy, attached is my order confirmation from Dodge and an email from Dodge confirming that any orders placed before the price increase were exempt. The additional gas guzzler fee had to paid so the price of the vehicle increased by $ 1,600.00 which is reflected in the bill of sale. I was lucky and the order was placed before the carbon fiber wheels sold out (about 6 hours after the order banks opened on the 2nd day, the 1st day the system was down).

Apparently the first 820 Demon170 orders with the carbon fiber wheels were allowed, then they could not be ordered. I wanted a 2nd set and Dodge concierge emailed me a few months ago when the wheels were available and the price in the email has a MSRP of 20K (the same price that they are available to the general public). Demon170 owners were never given the opportunity to purchase the wheels for the option price of $ 11,495.00 after the initial 820 orders were filled.

In summary, the MSRP on the window sticker is not accurate for orders placed before the price increase and purchased by the same entity. Technically the Demon170 could have been purchased for $ 102,751.00 (remove the three options on my order and add the additional gas guzzler fee of $ 1,600.00).

Cole, I'm assuming you know MSRP stands for Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. It's widely accepted that a car's window sticker reflects MSRP so I'm unclear of what you're suggesting. The fact that a few people were not only able to order a 170 without ADM but also get in before any price increases does not influence final MSRP that was listed for the vehicles. I consider that a lucky break discount of $10K and it was not only time bound (pre August order) but also had strict stipulations around how the name and address of the purchaser were listed on the order. If they didn't match exactly, too bad so sad the add'l $10K applied.

If you're debating there are two MSRP prices, I'd disagree. The final, and what is accepted, is what is printed on the window stickers that came with every car. Be glad you got a discount. I am. Imagine the mess if the price had gone the other way and lowered $10K after August! People would be filing law suits for a refund. Had there been two different window stickers I would agree there were two MSRP prices.

Had that $10K been added to my order, I would have cancelled or flipped the car at delivery. At the increased price I felt a 170 was no longer good value. The week I got mine a buddy offered me $40K over for it lol. I told him no.
