On the toe every thing I read is toe out “means an out of control” vehicle. A slight toe in on both front wheels seems to be the consensus.

But at 25.3 lbs they’re only 3lbs lighter than the sportsman’s
Not even that. I weighed my sportsman's and they were 25.X lbs and my ET Streets were 18.X lbs.

The new et streets are 25 pounds and slightly wider. They are the same weight as the sportsman. The original ones you have which I still see as being sold are 18 pounds. But their rating is only 1140 per tire.

If the new ones are street legal why don’t they give a load rating?

Wow 3 pages. I didn’t read it all. A few months ago I put the Mickey front on my set of 18 fronts. Over 150 they felt better than my Hoosier. I kind of wish I bet the tire on my 17 and just ran that tire full time.

Mickey Thompson’s newest front runner that weighs 25 pounds is street legal. Street legal tires do not publish weight capabilities. It has to be significantly more than the 18 pound tire which is rated only at 1140 pounds. It is .4 inches wider and obviously has more radial inners leading to the extra six pounds per tire.

I am looking for front runners and called Mickey Thompson. They didn't say anything about a new et street that had a higher load rating over the 1140lbs. The sportsman is the only tire they recommended. Am I missing something?

Hmmm. Just like the irs which purport sly gives wrong answers 50 percent of the time on the phone maybe the Mickey rep. gave you a wrong answer. Marc W gave you a link where to buy the higher rated front runners. You can immediately tell the difference with the heftier weight.

I currently have 28x6 Sportsman S/R and hate them. Neither would balance well and Jegs will only replace after I pull them and send them back at my cost. My fear is that the replacements will be just as bad. When I called MT, their tech service guy was super nice and agreed to replace thru Jegs stating that it may have just
been a bad batch.. Can't find the ET Streets anywhere in 28x6. If anyone has a part number.. [cheers]

Well, I just called Mickey Thompson again TECHNICAL: 330-928-9092 ext 5 and spoke with Cassidy. I asked if they have any higher load rated tire in the 18" front runner. She confirmed they only have 2 styles, the 28x6x18 which are the et street with the 1140 load limit and the sportsman radial with a 1650 lb load limit. I wouldn't trust amazon for any information to begin with, but I can't even find the page of that pic. Also that part number in that pic is for the 1140lb tire. I am going to have to believe the manufacturers info for this, as I am sure they know what they make and don't make.

I cannot find them on the MT website. So if you are sticking with MT it looks like there are two choices. There is a ton of weight on the front end of our cars. If a total race car without the added weight of the AC and maybe an aluminum block I would go with the lighter tire. But otherwise I opt for the safer heavier front runner.

Sportsman is the best choice if the car is street driven. Period. The ET-R is a good choice if mostly a track car with cautious street use. The light weight M/T that I’m using is a 17”. That tire is not available in a 18” and is race only. If you want a lighter 18” tire for racing then the Hoosiers are the best choice. Many fast Hellcats using those without issues. 079D9076-BE8E-4520-B9F0-26B6AC767320.jpeg
