That's why I'm not going any further & to stay on 93, I'm happy right where mine is, 2.85, 3.09, 315 & AI chiller. 9.7's in the cold & 10.0's in the heat.
Knock on wood, so far just change the oil & diff fluid once a year.
I'm happy on stock boost I ran 10.3's in 1500 da with crap baro last weekend.
I have a 10% lower on the shelf that I may never install.😂

I think the 10% lower would be good, a little less than a 2.85.
Tune it & be good & done.

So went to the shop. We pulled out the material that was in there. Was less than what we charged it with, we can only speculate the txv valve is leaking or the unit itself. Inspected all fittings, noticed small yellow die on the threads when we put it under UV, nothing major though as when we put the machine back on, diagnosis ran and held vacuum for ten minutes straight. Put it back in, charges to Joe’s specs and ran the car as per the diagnostics, AC in car blows ice cold. Enough to make your nipples cut glass. Turn on KC bypass and then turn on max AC and then hit the drag valve. Nothing… line after the TXV is still warm.

Got on the phone with Joe, very supportive. New unit will be out tomorrow or Sat., will box up old one and send back for autopsy. Lessons learned, will not keep the chiller in its current location, cannot inspect it easily, also want to move the drag valve.

In some positive news, Joe is sending me a whole new unit. This means the car will be back, soonish… for when thats ready I have been doing some RnD with BMR, purchased a new lid and machined out a hole for vacuum tool. Its perfect!

Next up is evacuating the AC and moving it to bumper mount. The current location is not serviceable, either way the bumper has to come off so I might as well make it easy for next schmuck.

Not sure how you didn't hear any grinding then you did. Tells me something changed. Wheels are hitting the arms, or sway bar?

it was the articulation in the sway bar making left turns… anyway those ears are gone… more aad suspension parts…

Now to sand the wheel and hit it with some black gloss wheel paint. Still no replacement from Kincaid :( . Using the old unit to mock a bumper mount and redo the lines.

Front mount killer chiller done.
CABD5D78-DAEF-4A98-B466-17CED31AF550.jpeg
Very happy the existing liquid line worked out to be the right length, have to cut some new ac lines for use but it's late, test fit of the bumper, based on existing measurements of the foam insert it should be fine.

More better like that. I notched out my bumper support to recess the chiller some.

FYI - those curved end pieces on the bumper support can be taken off to save a little more weight, I did with no issues.

You'll have to accept if you want to try to set the world on fire you're going to be working on the car....ALL THE TIME. Just comes with the territory. This is why I set the 10.00 as my target and the random good air TNT as a gravy 9.x or whatever. It's been pretty easy and relatively cheap if not for that motor incident I had.

Remember KISS. Back off a tick on the car and let it be enjoyable would be my advice.
Yep, this is why I’m done also with trying to make more power then where she’s already at. Tired of replacing busted things, tired in both body, mind, and wallet. 5500$ for a trans rebuild last fall kind of hit home, I want to retire soon too and now with the market tanked I need to increase savings a bunch while the markets low to buy back in when there’s Somebody that knows what they’re doing back in the White House and maybe the market starts to recover. 5.75 60-130 is good for me. Once my axles get back from GForce a trip to the track on a cool night and see if I can get a 9 second pass in on video this time and then it’s just street hunting for a while. I’ll watch the video when a need a track fix lol.

Yep, you have to know when enough is enough or it's never ending on all your points mentioned. Some peoples pockets are deeper than others so there's that. :)

the new layout is 100% better, still nothing from kincaid, gonna get on their asses on Monday, i also paid for more a/c fittings so I need them to finish mocking the -10 a/c lines.

then somewhere in between home and me noticing he breaks his nail on his duclaw, no vet will see him (i dont cut his nails as I nipped the quick once and once is all it took)

Have some motivation. Some guy in a M5 called me slow. I now got to dunk on his ass. Front bumper mount for KC done. Figured out the spacing and did a bumper mod. 😁

Should this delay keep going, will just go buy my own fucking lines and make it myself.

Couldnt sleep, was doing mental math in my head. If you have ever worked in automotive AC all fittings are sae 45* flares. So while reviewing parts from my KC kit I noticed something. He sends AN valves.

Did you use that refrigeration grade sealer on the flairs I suggested back when you where doing your installation? My system is still fully charged 3 years now and still produces 26-28 F coolant, never had to mess with it since installation. When you pull a vacuum and if the vacuum doesn’t hold overnight and gauge stay rock steady where it was, not for just 10 minutes or even an hour you have leaks and need to address them before charging or your system will not work right for very long.

For AN fittings it is heretical to apply anything to the flare as that will compromise the integrity of the flare as the connection is mechanical compression. 37* fittings should never be mixed with 45* fittings, ever, the sealer is a temporary stopgap. In your instance it has worked flawlessley, knowing my luck it will leak like a mf’er.

Im saddened by this cause still no replacement parts, this issue is now apparent now demotivated again.

I agree, the 2 should never be mixed but some fittings these days are dual flaired to fit either JIC or SAE, they don’t work as well but they will seal. I’ve used these Flair Tight sealing washers with GREAT success, I may have even used them on my install I don’t remember as I do have a assorted kit in my shop. Maybe you can get some of these quick and use them? Get the refrigeration grade ones.
