The game changer for these 555RII is that they are W speed rated, are traction rated A, and have a 106 SL load rating. This means they have excellent rain traction and at our factory rated tire pressure of 32PSI, they have similar load capacity as the factory Pirellis. Super planted in high speed corners, and a 30MPH roll has zero wheel spin or hop.
I’m praying this is all true in real life too!!

I run DR’s exclusively on the street, found the NT05R to be the best for such so far from a dig and a roll, even better then a 315/50- 17 on the street at least (I’ve tried them, both new, both same day same surface within an hour of each other, NT05R best 1/4 best 0-60) I’m only a straight line guy with my cat so can’t comment on cornering ability with them out back. Can’t wait to try the 555R2, just wish I had a spare set of rims so I didn’t have to dismount my NT05r’s as their not even half worn yet.
Good to know . I just got the 315/35/20 NT05's. Didn't even know they were coming out with the 315 555's. Dohhh!. Gotta say the 315 NT05's look pretty serious for a "street" tire . Hope they do the trick. The one reason I went with them is that I've been told the are more stable in turns than the M/T's and are more consistent with wear and traction, right down to the cords, also.

Ordered my 315r2's on Wednesday should be here Tuesday. Can't wait to have some real traction on my M6 WB. Surely can't be worse then my Summer Pirelli's! Looking forward to impressions.

I want to know more about the compound change. Anyone have some true dirt on this that is more than the marketing fluff?
From Nitto when I asked them..

"
Thank you for contacting Nitto Tire.

The NT555RII was designed to be an improvement over the NT05R so much so that sidewall construction was modified to provide better 60' times over the NT05R. However, between the 2, the NT05R would slightly more aggressive rubber compound.

Treadwear will vary depending on use, vehicle, roads etc. Normally we hear customers getting anything from 5,000-10,000 on a pair."

You won’t be unhappy with them, they’ve been my exclusive street rear tire. And they gripped right down to the wear bars, after that they started to fade. When I removed them at the wear bars they felt bologna thin inside to out side, like a sharp rock could have easily punctured them, they dribbled like a basket ball lol

They definitely are a different construction (thinner) than a full time street tire. I ordered the NT05 110W's by mistake last week (#207-110), they are a "summer" tire with the same exact tread pattern, but much wider water grooves, like DOUBLE the drag radial (way less rubber on the ground). Then I ordered the NT05 97Z's (#207-560) with thinner grooves and softer compound, and much lighter to lift, so they must be thinner. The production date is 12/07/18 on both. Little older than I would like for "new" tires, but I'm sure they'll be fine. Thanks for the input.

The true dirt is that the NT555RII has an SL load rating where as the NT05R has a LL load rating. This would reflect some truth in the marketing declaration of increased sidewall construction. These ratings cannot be miss stated, unless you as a manufacturer want a massive lawsuit from NHTSA if something goes wrong on the highway that can be tracked back to a tire that didn't meet specified performance ratings. Also, with a rating of 106SL for the 555RII, the maximum load per tire is actually higher than the factory Pirelli 107XL load rating if calculated at the vehicles suggested 32PSI inflation pressure. Last consideration is that the tire is rated at traction A, which is the second highest rating a tire can receive for wet traction. AA being the best, and C being the worst.

Simply put, by the numbers, these tires carry the least risk of the current common options out there to be daily driven on the street. I'm stoked this option is now available, and on my car!!

Mine scheduled to arrive Monday 5/11, they will be replacing 315 NT05R’s
860 wheel, 11.3 street 1/4’s now and 3.3-3.5 0-60 with M6
We shall see soon if it’s better then the same size NTO5R on the street soon
At the track I use 315/50-17 MT Street R’s , I’ll compare the 2 at the track as well soon as tracks open.
Where are you getting them from?

I agree, but that's not really talking about the compound. I do find the statement from Nitto regarding which is the most aggressive compound to be the most telling. Looks like they backed off just a little from the NT compound to facilitate these other factors and better rain handling.

Through discount tire, they are in one of the Hellcat Forms. Email I think from memory forums@Discounttire.com

Just ordered a pair of 20x11 Brass Monkey replicas, they are supposed to be here 5/12 as well. Hopefully get them mounted next Saturday am and have some data that afternoon. 🤞

If only I could get these in a 335/30/20...
We should all be yelling this out, they might just hear our voice and produce them if they think enough of a market exist.

335/30/20 would definitely require a different rim than the devils cut. With stock 20x11 wheel offset, the 315 barely clears the plastic liner.

sorry, cool, not a mistake. we were all dreaming about tires and about the possiblity of a manufacturer retooling an entire production line because we'd like them to. That, to me, is comparable to fantasy. :)

Very good point. Do you happen to know the offset on the stock 20 x 11's? I bought a set of 20 x 11 Factory Reproduction rims for my narrow bodied RE with Phillips flares. They have a 22MM offset and when I mocked it up, I said "MAN that's gonna be close", so I'd just like to know what the widebodies use.

What factory reproductions you get in a 20x11 with a 22mm offset?

The FR77 series 5 spoke that match the factory 5 spokes on my RE. Problem was they were only available in gloss,(satin sold out) so I brought them right out of the box to the powder coater this weekend with the 315 NT05's and having them done and mounted this week. Should pick up Saturday.
