Ok, mounted and balanced, impressed totally with the balance, one took .75 oz and the other only .5 oz, nice having only 2 small squares of weights to look at, their black and can’t even see them. They fit same as a 315 NTO5R, I have about 2mm of clearance to the notorious front inner fender rib but no rub. Did 3 street 1/4 runs with the 315 555R2’s. First one wasn’t impressed, 28 psi cold turned into 30-31 spun in first and second, low 4 sec 0-60, but they only had 10 miles on them too, evidence of nubbie’s still in the centers and bigger as they went out to the edges. Second run aired down to 28 hot, spun and hopped a bit in first, caught better in second no hop, was back to 29-30 after the run. Aired down to 27 hot, first spun and started a bit of hop but second hooked hard and resulted in a 3.6 0-60 and .97G’s 1.58 seconds in, 60’ still 2.10, got to get first to put it to the ground better, was hoping for under 2 sec 60’. Cold tire pressure now after sitting 5-6 hours in the garage now 25 psi. Looking at the tire faces nubbies are all but gone in the center 6” and evidence of them get bigger as they go out to the edges and the outer 3/4” both inside and out untouched looking, look like they need to go lower yet even air wise and/or could use a wider rim. My first day impression after 3 runs? I think they may be better then the 05R, and I’ll be trying another set on the 11” rims sometime in June. I’ll be removing them and putting the NT05R’s back on to preserve tire geometry for a good alignment as now it’s on to installing the BMR Cradle and Diff lock out kit, installing the Speedlogix rear control arms, and getting a +.5 camber 0 toe rear alignment and see if I can get under 2 second 60 ft’s on the street which should then net consistent 3.2-3.4 0-60 street pulls. So far their a 👍
Here’s some data from runs 2 and 3
