Parked underwater for awhile? My 2009 jeep didn't look like that 5 year ago. I spray paint it every year and it isn't too bad even now for a 15 year old jeep with 180k miles

Couple things from a northerner by the sea.

1. Most cars seem to rust less than trucks, for good reason. People with trucks usually have a car also. The truck always goes out in the salt and slush. The key is to flush everything out ASAP after snow stops. simply driving in moderate rain will be enough. My vehicles have been able to survive over 20y, and it is the rockers, cab corners and fender wheel well area that go first.

Some guys stop using their trucks when the weather warms, they don't get the "driving in the rain" flushing that year-round trucks get, and they completely fall apart in 10y. I make a point to take a drive down the highway in early spring when a heavy rain comes through. When I do the spring wash I flush out the undercarriage and frame.

My '23 F150 has an alum body, I'm nervous, not sure what to expect. I think the steel frame will be ok.

2. Sometimes trucks are pulling large boats on a shallow boat ramp and need to back in until the bumper hits the seawater...... We see these trucks all the time, can't miss them!

During severe storms we can get very high tides along with high waves and wind. Anyone living within 1/4mi of the coast is getting salt spray. And there are some areas, I know one in Cape Cod where a very high tide will flood access roads and people drive through foot deep seawater to get to their beach house. You don't want to buy their off-lease MB!

This guy could be lying but if he’s not… damn! My ‘13 built JGC looks way better than this after 12 Michigan winters.

They are really state of the art...(would never take my cars through though)...and for just $27.90 a month...you can go through as many times as you want..sometimes if I'm out in the boondocks and my truck gets muddy as hell I go through twice a day

Rust is horrible especially the dodges that sit in the lot over the winter before being shipped out from Michigan

I know some people disagree but my real world experience is that when done right by someone knowledgeable about the process Ziebart works. I live in the salt belt and have 3 cars that were done when new a 9,24 and 32 years old and they still are mostly rust free. When I was a young kid my Dad always had his cars Ziebarted and I know metals were worse back then for rusting but even newer cars will rust out eventually in the wrong climate and not taken care of with flushing...

I think a lot depends on the store management and doing the annual cleaning and respray. I had a Ziebarted ‘94 Aerostar that was still rust free when I sold it in ‘03. Aerostars were rust buckets in Michigan.

When I got my 16 HC in late may of 16 the undercarriage was pristine...when I got my first Demon in late march of 18 the undercarriage was a compete mess...salt everywhere even on plastic parts...good thing I have 2 lifts...I literally spent over a solid month on the undercarriage..repeated steam cleanings...touching up all minor rust...the salt was EVERYWHERE...now it is pristine.with the exception of a few minor etched raw aluminum pieces...pretty sure the car sat outside @ an upfitter waiting to get the hood... trunk...and top painted satin black...had it not been a Demon ...I would have refused the car...now the 170...was perfect like the 16 HC...now most don't think much about the undercarriage...but I am overly anal about every aspect of my cars...

Factory corrosion warrantees can be tricky...and some are only good if periodic dealer inspections are adhered to...and are not as all encompassing as one would think..

The last GM car I ever bought was a '77 Pontiac that came rusty from the factory. The trunk lid & RR quarter were rusty and they just painted over it at the factory. Rust started popping thru after 3 months and the dealer was an asshole about it, refusing to replace the rusty panels & just grinding on them & repainting. By the end of the 2nd Mich winter it looked like a 10 yr old car & I got it 'fixed' yet again & dumped it.
