Nice
How much hp can it take?
Their stated number is “over 1500”. Word from a confidential inside source is that it’s tested to over 2800 so far. They are probably pushing it to failure but I doubt anybody will be releasing that. The DragPak versions are pushing 1800 with a supercharger at 10,000 rpm. That’s a lot more load than it will see with turbos.

Just got this picture from the shop doing the NHRA recertification on my cage. Apparently there has been a change for the 7.5 requirements. More bars 🫤. Doesn’t make sense to me for a full factory frame car with intact factory floor, but there it is. IMG_7751.jpeg

I agree, Marc. Those bars are basically what a hybrid chassis would have like a Camaro or Nova, i.e., tying the bar/cage to subframe connectors. These Mopars unibodies are pretty stiff. Must be another slow day at SFI and NHRA, brainstorming on how to cause some more hassle for racers and dip yet again into our pockets. I haven't kept up on the chassis spec's since I exited stage left several years ago - I am assuming they revised the 25._ spec. for this? There goes your new valve cover weight savings...:D:confused:

I've said it before, but this build is amazing. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes after you make some hits in it.

New cage cert is done and the rear of the car is being put together (dual chutes, a new wing and custom sheet metal). Came up with some clean push button locks to replace the Dzus fasteners for the deck lid. IMG_7830.jpeg IMG_7829.jpeg IMG_7831.jpeg

Fuel system 😤. Got my injectors! Bosch 210’s. These are 2200cc injectors that are approved for methanol. They are flow matched factory race injectors that are not aftermarket modified. The flow rating is 2200cc at 46 lbs fuel pressure. At 58 lbs they’re flowing 2550cc. They’re rated for 2200hp on boosted E85. Running methanol requires almost double the volume so I’ll be running two per cylinder…... 5100cc at 58 lbs. I made the decision to keep my fuel cell in the rear, so staying with electric fuel pumps was a better choice than running a cable driven mechanical pump off the front of the motor according to Aeromotive. They recommended two of their 10 gpm brushless gear drives for a 20 gpm supply. They said that will be good for the 2500hp target on methanol. Out of all the E85 injectors being used on Spankintime shop builds… these are proving to be the preferred injector from a tuning standpoint. Particularly with the Holley EFI. They’re what Adam is running in the blue car and that thing starts on the first hit in 30* weather. IMG_7667.jpeg IMG_7540.jpeg

No. Unfortunately they didn’t get it done before I needed to bring it back home. The move to Florida fell apart because of the dead housing market (couldn’t sell my house for what I wanted) so I needed to get it back here to move forward with the new motor. The shop that did my cage, wanted it back to make the necessary mods to get the NHRA certification done (it was expired) so they will be putting one of their wings on it to work with the dual chutes. Just the way it goes. Still good with Redeye Racecars but I can’t race out of there and live in Utah. Who knows what will happen in the future.
