Definitely have a soft spot for them because they’re just ridiculous...which is lovable.

Was wondering how confident they’d be that the tires wouldn’t explode at those speeds. They mentioned briefly it in the article, but was thinking that took some balls to test drive the mule at uncharted speeds.

I had an opportunity to buy one for $2200.00 from Mr. Norm's a few years back, (in 1976, by the way). It was dark blue, black interior. Had a 440/4 speed. PS,PB and no other options. It wouldn't fit in my garage, so I passed on it.

The gas crunch hit, the war on muscle cars was on. In 1976, $2200.00 was still a good amount of money for a used car.

A car from Norm Krause no less, Grand Spaulding Dodge was the the place to go for performance back then if you were a Dodge Boy. If you look close at the pic included it’s a dark blue Charger 500 early earmarking of the Daytona, with flush grill, and rear flush window. A pillar also had wide molding. All in a attempt to slice through air, Add rear wing and 18” nose cone and you were there for the win. Would kill to have an original Mr Norm car preferably unmolested original.
