I had posted a thread on my ongoing electronics issues.
https://www.durangosrt.org/threads/what-is-it-with-vehicle-electronics-issues-these-days.15799/

A quick recap:
  • Dealer replaced the infotainment screen after a software update permanently deleted Performance Pages/Drive Modes.
  • The new radio fixed the PP/Drive Modes issue.
  • Later on, the audible voice that comes in when the NAV or VR/Phone buttons are used was gone.
  • Nav maps were also now stuck in Night Mode.
Current:
  • I brought it back last week. Finding no error codes, the dealer contacted Dodge STAR techs for a fix.
  • They gave me a rental car, as a portion of my vehicle's interior had been disassembled.
  • During the week they tried the items STAR told them to check. No dice.
  • They're returning my vehicle after doing an OEM factory reset on the radio/Uconnect.
  • I was told not to program the radio in any way for 72 hours (no phone pairing, etc.).
  • I am then to return to the dealer where they'll see what's what.
  • If the voice is still missing, they'll contact STAR again and go from there.
Any ideas as to why the 72 hour wait on not programming my radio/info system?
(I was told I could still manually tune the radio to hear music, but that's it).

may just want to see if any problems pop up without external influence, then make changes one at a time to see which one(s) may have caused the issues

The thing also updates itself (and probably other modules) as you drive around. When @Speedy! replaced the unit in his '16 Cat with an updated version it took a day or so for everything to update itself and begin to display/function properly as I recall.

At least they're working with you & trying to address the issues & not just stonewalling you like Jenkins did to me !

Thanks for the input!

I think you're onto something about all the modules updating, that being the reason for having to wait until Monday before making any changes to the system.

They also gave me a CR-V rental vehicle which was nice, but it wasn't the 392!

I hope when Monday morning arrives and I check the system the audible Voice returns, otherwise, it goes back to them on Tuesday.

They gave me a brand new CR-V last Monday in Denver to rent. Turned it back yesterday with 300 miles including a trip up to about 9,500’ and back last weekend. Not a bad rig. Of course not near what we have for power, but it was fine. I could shit around in that, would prefer the hybrid for more fun. But I’ll also say they gave me a damn Hornet R/T hybrid last month. It was not that bad either. Honda has that vehicle in a hybrid, I may want to try it.

I got the Hornet GT ... fully loaded ... Harmon Kardon Sound ... Sunroof ... with Track Pack!

I was impressed.
