Always hard to say no to after equipment. Plus my chute comes off and is hidden rather easy. For cages if they say no cage cars allowed I wonder if that could be a liability.

So older cars that came with 15 or 14 inch brakes are Ok but no brake conversions for newer cars? How do you race a "street car" if it is at NHRA track and the street car goes quicker than 9.00/150 mph? Most events including NPK enforce NHRA regulations.

What about cars with spools? Mufflers needed if so are glass packs permitted? Race seats (some say this is for safety).
Is the emission equipment need to be installed and functional?

The list goes and on and on and usually turns into a shit show

At the end of the day a street car is a street car. Full exhaust. Full interior wipers horn all glass in car. Race will probably be 1/8 mile all lights working. Full dash.

A street car is what the rules define it as, for example in NPK (and street outlaws), a street car is defined as having a vin, steel roof and stock look (rear wing is limited to 6 inches as I recall). Reaper got busted for having a carbon fiber roof/B pillar as I recall a few seasons ago in street outlaws. There are minimum weights depending on engine and power adder being used and only one power adder can be used.

The devil is in the details and in this case the rules are everything. There are shops and individuals that build cars specifically to comply with the rules. Is Tom Bailey's 5 second car a street car? He drives it on the street and it is "street legal".

Everyone wants the rules to fit their car. If I decide to do this Jon and me already talked I will build a new car to fit rules. A fox body with a LT and turbos

yep, usually using a LS motor. The parts for them are everywhere and the body is very lite. Sometimes the nitrous foxbodys do better depending on the weight rules.
