Well folks I was inspecting my rear suspension and exhaust last night and I found I bend one of the rear upper control arms . ( the stamped steel one ) I guess 1.34 - 1.35 sixty foots were a bit too much for it . I have the AAD's off getting a bushing upgrade so my last 2 track outings were on stock control arms with offset bushing to get the alignment I want . But not to worry no other damage was done and I already fixed the problem.

Shows why it’s a must to upgrade the rears in my opinion

I was always skeptical of those stamped steel turds. And now I know why . Yes once you really start hitting it hard and upgrade is mandatory in my opinion.

So now there are 2 reasons to upgrade the rear control arms . Strength and adjustability.

Well I ordered my connecting rods today . 6-8 week delivery estimate . The crank I just have to complete my end of the bargin and I can take it home . I do plan on having everything balanced once I get it all . This why I sell parts in the classifieds for USD . I leave it in my PayPal then I can buy something in USD without paying 2 fees .

I"m glad I decided to do a forged bottom end ( drop in kit ) ......... I opened Pandora's box yesterday . I started flex fuel tuning . Although we don't have E85 at the pumps up here I can still get it in a can and it's cheaper then race fuel . I now have 4 fuel options on my car to work with ( hopefully)

Base - pump gas
Alcohol - E85 ( from a can or when I visit the US)
H.O. - race gas
H.O. Alcohol - ignite 90 (or equivalent)

I don't know if I should grin or cry

Well the flex fuel tuning is working great so far . I added 5 gallons of E85 to what I had in the tank and I took the car for a cruise and watched the trims . All great so for and it says 41% ethanol which is pretty close to my calculations
Btw it's smells like vodka ..... I also noticed the difference that it switched to the alcohol ignition tables

Lol.

I've been loving the flex fuel setup. I haven't raced on it yet but will next spring with some Renegade E85 I think.

It's working pretty good so far . Its very interesting on how the flex fuel works . I will be using VP X85 because the Ontario Canada distributor is 5 mins from my house .

Josh from Flatout Performance (local shop and tuner) recently did a test of Q16 vs pump E85 vs race E90 on the dyno. Was pretty interesting. Based on the numbers I'm assuming this was a 2.72 Hellraiser pulley car.

Q16 836/836
Pump E85 849/836
Ignite E90 859/852

If I had to guess the difference was about 1 degree of add'l timing going up the ladder there.

Very interesting . The ethonal is cheaper , has no lead in it and makes more power . I'm liking the flex fuel more and more .

I know for a fact, ignite will take/make a lot more power due to the much bigger timing advance thrown at it.

From what I've been told by those that know a lot more than I, is that good pump E85 can actually support MBT. You won't make more power than that regardless of fuel used I don't think?
