This is how it is everywhere and why there is a MSHS series. The Gen 3 stuff is generally too slow to compete in other events with the exception of heavy weight class (if it is offered).
I wouldn't drive hours to an event to get my ass drug. Better off going to hellcat races with fellow owners and having fun, but that is just me.
actually the Gen 3 stuff isn't slow, they are in a heavy body. My stock hellcat engine with 20 lbs of boost would run 7s in light fox body. I have been 9.1 at 4700 lbs just think at 3000 lbs
If I thought I may have a chance I would. My friend Tim has a 86 mustang with a turbo coyote that has run in the 7's Going to be hard to compete against a 3000 lb car. He said to Jon he is making way more power because of the weight difference and Jon had a stock redeye with just boost.
