Combination of stuff coming together. I’ve been friends with James Golden for years now (ever since I loaned him a Whipple pulley at a MSHS race in Kentucky 4 years ago). He’s been trying to talk me into going turbos and after he stepped up to a Pro Mod level with his car, he made me a offer on his previous setup I couldn’t refuse. Twin 76 Garrett’s rated to 1500hp each. New motor is going to be stout 😤.

Yes. And that was part of the equation here. There will still be a considerable amount of work with setting everything up (boost control and some relocation of stuff like my trans cooler, etc) but custom pieces like those headers and intercooler… omg 😵💫. The setup also included his Hogan Intake. I just don’t have it yet.

If I had been starting from scratch…. I probably would have opted for the air/water intercooler intake from Demon Perf. For one thing, it would have been cheaper than that $4k Hogans and custom $$$/$$$ intercooler. But…. This setup will shed 150 lbs from the weight of the car and will eliminate the need for all that ice. Sooo much ice 😵💫. Turbos put a lot less stress on the block and internals than a supercharger at this level and are a lot more tunable to get the car off the line. Reliability has been a issue lately with the superchargers and once set up, turbos are as reliable as it gets.
I agree 100% with everything you said.
once you get some good baseline tuning done, off the line will be a problem for someone else. And the back half… will fly by. Haha
